IFLA 2008 (part 13): More Web 2.0 in IFLA

At my first IFLA conference in Oslo, it seemed to me terms like blogs, wiki, Web 2.0 wasn't in IFLA's lexicon. But year by year, those terms appeared more in presentations and poster sessions.

This year seems like a bumper crop of sorts.

Here's what I spotted at this year's poster sessions:

This one cautions against jumping into Web 2.0:

Of course, there are plenty of posters that aren't about new media.

And for some things, Web 2.0 just can't replace.

    Hey, somebody did look at my poster! (The one about the community blogs of librarians from Romania) I'm glad.
    This was my first IFLA conference so I cannot say anything about the other editions but Web 2.0 had a decent presence on the sessions this year. Nevertheless, when inquired about the use of social networking tools very few librarians raised their hands...
