How To Begin A Romance @ The Library - by Men of Clay

This post & the subsequent "conversations" gets funnier by the day - "How To Begin A Romance @ The Library". By one of my favourite Singaporean bloggers, Men of Clay a.k.a Roxanne.

Which reminded me of Library Date, an event organised by the Social Development Unit (SDU) and the NLB in August 2002, held at library@orchard.

Ah, the library changes lives in more ways that one. Another instance of the social role of libraries.

In fact, I met my wife in the library too! (not from Library Date). So I certainly could say with confidence that the library has changed my life for the better. Hey, I'm not saying this to earn brownie points with my wife (she doesn't read my blog anyway).

If you've suggestions for Roxanne on how to begin a Romance@ The Library*, click here.
*Maybe Roxanne should trademark this.

  1. Wah, I have been "Incidentally Rambled"! Thank you. n_n Actually, there are lots of cute guys hanging out at library@Orchard. And those cosy little listening niches with headphones are just nice for sitting opposite your target and taking peeks at him/her. ;>

  2. So that's why it's so hard to get people to move...

  3. Incidentally, I first met my wife in Jurong Point library while working there part time. No relation to "Library Date" though.

  4. Romance @ The Library? Try Ann Arbor District Library's Gaming @ The Library

I couldn't believe it at first, but according to the web site, the goal is to foster community spirit among teens and the library. Kinda what you had in mind too...

  5. Kevin, thanks for the lead. I've always wondered if the library can do something like that. Actually we can, just that how to measure the outcomes as it relates to the library mission. But thanks to your lead, I'm going to follow the AADL lead closely.

GadgetDude, Wow! I read in somebody's blog once (was it yours) that another bloke started a blog on "lifechanging moments" or something... think I have an idea for this...
